I just adore this fabric with its colourful flowers and cute animals. The design is so unusual with the deer and rabbits running through the mass of flowers with the bird watching.

 The fabric is a textured linen and is very strong, ideal for a cushion front, a bag front or for other crafting, sewing uses.

 I think this piece must have been part of a curtain as there seems to have been a hem at the bottom as there is a fold line which I am sure could be ironed out. There is also a line of tiny stitch holes left by a needle, which can be seen on the photo's. Once again these should disappear with further steaming.

 The fabric measures 76cms/29.9" x 46cms/18.1"

Vintage French fabric in Autumnal colours

A superb piece of vintage French fabric. In very good condition for it's age as the colours are still bright.

This would make a superb cushion/pillow front.

Pretty vintage French fabric with Autumn colouring.

I just adore the design on this vintage French fabric. The flowers are superb abd the dark red wine colour makes the flowers jump out at you. This would be superb if it was added to a cushion/pillow front. The fabric is very strong. A great Autumnal colour which could be used also at Christmas.

Vintage Toile de Jouy fabric

Just added this vintage French fabric to my shop.

This is a wonderful piece of French Toile de Jouy. It is gently faded and in good condition apart from some holes along the bottom edge where it had been attached to something. I have not counted the fabric at the bottom in the measurements.

Measures - 46ms/18.12 x 31cms/12.2"

It will make a superb cushion front or the front of a bag. Equally it would look superb framed.

A lovely piece of English vintage rayon fabric. This would have been the fabric for a dress or blouse. Wonderful Autumnal colours in shades of orange, blue and green.

Measures - 53cms/20.9" x 28/25cms/ 11/9.8"

 A wonderful piece of English vintage rayon fabric with a great floral design.

The fabric is in great condition. It came from a curtain and I have left the hems on which are on two sides.

Measures 67cms/26.3" x 57cms/22/4"

It would make a lovely cusion or used for any crafting ideas you have.

A lovely clean looking English vintage fabric. I rescued this fabric as it had been part of a sofa covering. The fabric is a strong cotton and the colours are still bright.

There is one corner cut off so I am giving measurement mius the corner.

Measures - 57/45.5cms / 22.4"/17.9" x 33/40cms / 13/15.7"

This would make a wonderful cushion/pillow front or the front of a bag.

 A lovely piece of vintage English floral fabric. The fabric is cotton with a soft smooth napping on the outside. I presume this was originally made for curtains.

Measures 57cms/22.4" x 34cms/13.4"

Ideal for all kinds of crafting and sewing. This vintage fabric would make a wonderful cushion/pillow cover front.

 A wonderful piece of vintage French silky fabric that I think was once part of a dress. It is machine embroidered in shades of cream and grey and the fabric is two tone in brown and beige.

I have not cleaned this fabric but you may want to. The piece comes as I found it.

Ideal for a collection or to be used for projects.

There are two pieces available.
The piece I will sell first measures 63cms/24.8"wide x 59cms/23.2" long
The second piece measures measures 64cms/25.2" wide x 55cms/21.7" long
Please note that there some small holes along one edge but I have not included them in the measurements.

I would like to thank everyone for watching this blog and for visiting the Rag Rescue website for the past eight years. I hope you have enjoyed looking at the wonderful antique and vintage fabrics from England and France. I know that the fabrics and embellishments have taken up residence all over the world and are being treasured. I was only too pleased to be part of their discovery.

Only 13 more weeks of listings until I close the shop so I've been working very hard today. Our last guest went home to Malaysia today and left our house at 10am so it was back to work.

I hope you have had an enjoyable week. Mine has been pretty painful what with a tooth extraction and visits to the physio twice a week or rather the torture chamber. Still I've still managed to list 36 new items onto the website this week. I daren't tell my physio as I had strict instructions not to use the computer, as if..... I'm just doing more exercises and popping more painkillers. Anyway enough of me.

I would just like to let everyone know that I have decided that it will be a good idea to close Rag Rescue website at the end of this tax year, that is at the end of March 2015. It appears that some customers, especially new customers, seem to think that I am retiring almost immediately which of course, isn't the case. It has to be slowly as I have a stock room still bulging with lovely vintage fabrics and trims. However, although initially I thought it would take a couple of years to clear the majority of stock, business has been so very brisk that I feel that next March seems more reasonable. I will try my best to keep adding lots more items on to the website each week .
