French red cross-stitch samplers

Been busy this morning packing up Etsy sales and listing two great vintage samplers from France.

I think they were made at different times by the same lady although the second one does not have a Christian name. It could be Angele Yernaux when she was younger as this second one is more naivea, larger stitching and not as accomplished as the one bleow. On the other hand it could have ben made by a younger sister of Angele

The third item I listed today is a Victorian Bristol board  embroidered bookmark on a a lovely silk ribbon.

Vintage French fabric with pink roses

 There is the most superb design of trailing roses on this vintage French fabric.

The light was bad today and you will notice a difference in colour in some of the photo's. I apologise for this. The true colours ad pale pinks with a ruby pink for the stripes.

Vintage French fabric - Indienne cotton design

There is a beautiful floral Indienne design on this vintage French cotton fabric.

The fabric has the stamps - By Charles Demery S A. Tissu Souleiado

Souleiado is not the only producer of such Indienne prints today, but it is the oldest, established in c.1806
Souleiado; the word in old Provençal means ''a ray of sun shining through the clouds after a rain.''

Due to demand, in 1977, the cottons were printed in factories, instead of by hand blocking.

The colour and design on this fabric lend itself towards use for Christmas items. Cushion covers, table mats, table runners etc would all add that little extra cheerfulness at Christmas time.

30.5cms x 31cms

I have four pieces of this fabric, if you would like to buy more than one piece then they will come as one piece uncut.

Vintage French floral fabric - c.1930s - TS23

 This is a beautiful 1930s piece of used French cotton fabric. iI has gently faded over the years giving it that shabby chic appeal that is so popular.
The colours are my favourite being in a duck egg blue, yellow, pink and red. A great design.

 The fabric is still very strong although I have found a couple of tiny pinholes from previous stitching but still ideal for the front of a boudoir cushion/pillow.

Measures - 53cms x 45/43cms ( 20.9" x 17.7/16.9" )
