Lots more vintage items added to the Rag Rescue website today.

I would just like to let everyone know that I have decided that it will be a good idea to close Rag Rescue website at the end of this tax year, that is at the end of March 2015. It appears that some customers, especially new customers, seem to think that I am retiring almost immediately which of course, isn't the case. It has to be slowly as I have a stock room still bulging with lovely vintage fabrics and trims. However, although initially I thought it would take a couple of years to clear the majority of stock, business has been so very brisk that I feel that next March seems more reasonable. I will try my best to keep adding lots more items on to the website each week .

Beautiful vintage buckles on the Rag Rescue website today and here's a new idea on how to use them.

 

Shown here as door magnets but I would attach the buckles to a long strip of vintage fabric and hang it on the wall with all of your favourite photo's.

HAPPY FIRST DAY OF SPRING

Wonderful vintage buckles can be used not only for belts but for a whole lot of craft ideas.

Add them to some vintage fabric covered circles and use as napkin holders, you will be the envy of your friends. Place some vintage fabric around a flower vase or plant pot and put some velvet or silk vintage ribbon around the centre with a vintage buckle in the centre. The ideas are endless.

As you can see there is a lovely mix of vintage buckles, beads, buttons embroidery silks, vintage French fabrics and ribbon. A hat trim, lovely bunch of vintage flowers and an unusual Lux beadcraft envelope containing instructions on bead work motifs and it comes complete with the beads.

I hope tomorrow is a better day than today. First the dentist, then the hand brake on the van seized and now the washing machine has broken with the clothes still in it. Oh well hopefully that's the three.

I have always loved buckles, from Victorian shoe buckles to 1940's plastic buckles. So you can imagine my joy when I found a tin of buckles in that 'Attic find'. The picture shows one of the buckles that will be listed next week. A lovely brass buckle with a design of pillars and roses.
