Deep crochet edging and white work shamrock motifs

I'm placing some gorgeous deep crochet edging on the Rag Rescue website today. It is ideal for sheets and quilts etc. It is so rare to get deep crochet like this any more. There is also some lovely white work motifs in the shape of a bow and shamrocks which are great for adding to sewing projects.

This beautiful crochet edging has 16 large shamrock patterns in the design. There is one slanting edge.
It measures 2.14metres by 17cms at the widest point.

This is a lovely  motif showing a large bow which has been embroidered in satin stitch on the linen fabric.
Approx. 23cms wide and 7.5cms deep at the widest points. The linen measured down the centre is 10cms.

This is a superb motif of a shamrock leaf with the stem and leaves. the embroidery is of a reasonably high standard.

I have a number of these individual motifs and the linen on which they are stitched varies in size and shape
The embroidery is approx 5/6cms deep by 4cms wide.

This embroidered satin stitched shamrock has a small amount of linen surrounding it so that it can be turned under when adding it to your creations.

The actual embroidered shamrocks vary from 6cms x 4.5cms to 6.5cms x 4.5cms

French vintage fabric mini bunting kit

Today I am introducing you to a new Rag Rescue product, French vintage fabric mini bunting kits.

I just adore mini fabric bunting. The trouble is many people have said to me that it is so time consuming cutting all of the small pennants out. I decided that if you were able to purchase a kit then it would make life a lot easier.

This kit has 18 pennants, each one 3cms x 3.5cms. and a length of white thin ribbon long enough to sew the pennants on. The length of the bunting when complete with go around a 6" and 7" cake tin.

Here are a few examples of how this mini bunting can be used:

Around cakes,
Hung on top of cakes ( see pic 5 taken from http://leesyslife.blogspot.co.uk
Stick card to the back and write on them to stick on sandwiches, cakes etc.
Use as gift tags
wrap around parcels
etc. etc. etc.

The pennants are single but I will be producing some at a later date that are double.
The last two photo's are from www.zankyou.co.uk  and http://leesyslife.blogspot.co.uk, so that you can see just how to use them.

Today I have listed packs of French antique gold metallic corded threads. There are packs of fine, flat and thick corded in a variety of lengths. One pack has three different threads in.
This French metallic threads are antique and will be ideal for embroidery adding a little sparkle to enhance your design. Equally they will be excellent for the restoration of antique embroidery as they have that wonderful patina that only time can bring.

Victorian and early 20th century quilt fabric patches stashbags

I acquired an old patchwork quilt which although large was very damaged. As the designs were superb and very old we decided to unpick the quilt and save the good pieces.

The majority of the fabrics used in the quilt were Victorian but some were early 20th century. I think the quilt was made in the early 20th century using a mix of what was then old fabric and new ones.

I have washed all of the fabrics and bagged them up into stashbags containing 6 patches. These can be used for your sewing projects or retained as examples of designs from long ago.
