These two pretty French vintage fabrics are now in my etsy shop.

Another sunny day here in Morecambe. I've been busy this morning wrapping up orders and listing these two vintage fabrics. Off to have lunch now and work in the garden dead heading, this afternoon.

French red cross-stitch samplers

Been busy this morning packing up Etsy sales and listing two great vintage samplers from France.

I think they were made at different times by the same lady although the second one does not have a Christian name. It could be Angele Yernaux when she was younger as this second one is more naivea, larger stitching and not as accomplished as the one bleow. On the other hand it could have ben made by a younger sister of Angele

The third item I listed today is a Victorian Bristol board  embroidered bookmark on a a lovely silk ribbon.

Vintage French fabric - Indienne cotton design

There is a beautiful floral Indienne design on this vintage French cotton fabric.

The fabric has the stamps - By Charles Demery S A. Tissu Souleiado

Souleiado is not the only producer of such Indienne prints today, but it is the oldest, established in c.1806
Souleiado; the word in old Provençal means ''a ray of sun shining through the clouds after a rain.''

Due to demand, in 1977, the cottons were printed in factories, instead of by hand blocking.

The colour and design on this fabric lend itself towards use for Christmas items. Cushion covers, table mats, table runners etc would all add that little extra cheerfulness at Christmas time.

 This is a beautiful 1930s piece of used French cotton fabric. iI has gently faded over the years giving it that shabby chic appeal that is so popular.
The colours are my favourite being in a duck egg blue, yellow, pink and red. A great design.

 The fabric is still very strong although I have found a couple of tiny pinholes from previous stitching but still ideal for the front of a boudoir cushion/pillow.

Measures - 53cms x 45/43cms ( 20.9" x 17.7/16.9" )

A lovely clean looking English vintage fabric. I rescued this fabric as it had been part of a sofa covering. The fabric is a strong cotton and the colours are still bright.

There is one corner cut off so I am giving measurement mius the corner.

Measures - 57/45.5cms / 22.4"/17.9" x 33/40cms / 13/15.7"

This would make a wonderful cushion/pillow front or the front of a bag.

 A wonderful piece of vintage French silky fabric that I think was once part of a dress. It is machine embroidered in shades of cream and grey and the fabric is two tone in brown and beige.

I have not cleaned this fabric but you may want to. The piece comes as I found it.

Ideal for a collection or to be used for projects.

There are two pieces available.
The piece I will sell first measures 63cms/24.8"wide x 59cms/23.2" long
The second piece measures measures 64cms/25.2" wide x 55cms/21.7" long
Please note that there some small holes along one edge but I have not included them in the measurements.

Well the sun is shining here again in Morecambe even though the forecast was for a rainy weekend. So just in case you can't see the sun today, here are four more lovely french vintage fabrics to cheer you up. All are now listed on the website.

The early bird catches the French fabrics

Well, another early start this morning for me. Up at 5am to see Steve off to do a big carboot. We are trying to get rid of our antiques stock. He did very well last week so we had to raid the spare room yesterday. I will get my guest room emptied and decorated before Christmas, I will....I will.
