Rare vintage fabric with Rupert Bear design

A wonderful vintage fabric with the design of Rupert Bear.
I am told that this is a rare fabric design. I am thinking that it may have been designed by Alex Cubie in the mid 70's .The colours are slightly more vibrant than the earlier ones I've had before and the lines around the characters are bolder.
Measures 59cms x 52/50cms (23.2" x 20.5/19.7")

Rupert Bear vintage fabric squares at Rag Rescue today.

I found some of these Rupert bear vintage fabric squares  in 2010 and it has taken me three years to find some more. At that time a set of these squares was purchased by a lovely customer and she made the most wonderful quilt. you can see this quilt at -

and there is a link there to her blog.

The squares measure 18.5cms/7" square approx. and there are 9 different squares to the story.

Some of the 'Rupert bear' squares have become a stunning quilt

A few months ago I sold a large quantity of squares which depicted 'Rupert bear'. There was a set of nine squares which told a story about Rupert and a cloud.

One of my very talented customers Helen at the 'Hen House blog' bought a set of these squares and has made the most gorgeous quilt using them as a centre piece.

I just love the way she has picked out the colours within each square and used fabrics to frame them.

The patterns of the fabrics are lovely and show the squares to their best advantage.

Such superb quilting and such patience, it must have taken her ages to set the strips in.

The quilt now hangs proudly at the top of her stairs for all to view.

Well done Helen.

All the photo's are by Helen at 'Hen House' blog . Do pop over to her post about Rupert
HERE
It not only shows her quilt but also the interesting adventure she had discovering Rupert bear.

Rupert Bear vintage fabric squares

A little late in posting I'm afraid. I got a long phone call from a friend just as I was about to start writing this post and by the time the phone call had ended I forgot all about my blog.

I couldn't resist these lovely vintage fabric squares. They will look wonderful as a quilt or individually as a cushion or embellished on a bag for a child.
They are now on the Rag Rescue website and you can find them today in 'New Listings' category or in the larger fabrics section. I've put them in the larger fabrics as they are 7 inches squares and at only 70p a square I think they are a real bargain.
