HABERDASHERY WEEK - DAY 5

Well it is the last day of threads tomorrow.
 
There will be 16 different coloured embroidery yarns made by Pearsall's. All except one are pre 1924 as thye have abels which read 'Wood |Pulp yarn'


In 1910 a new fibre was  manufactured  from regenerating wood pulp. It was not until 1924 that this new fibre was called rayon.Afer 1924 all yarns were labelled 'RAYON'



An embroidery yarn which has smoothness and sheen so typical of rayon thread.
