Vintage cross stitch motifs, braids and tassels at the Rag Rescue website tomorrow.

Vintage braids, embroidery and tassels at the Rag Rescue website tomorrow.

Rag Rescue's unique vintage fabric scrappy parcels

When I am cutting out vintage fabric pieces for the scrap bags and squares, I always have some good pieces left over. There is nothing wrong with these pieces but they are too small for the sizes I use. I have therefore decided to sell these as 'scrappy parcels'.

There are twenty pieces of vintage fabric in a scrappy parcel. They are all different shapes and sizes but at least one side is less than four inches.

Ideal for crazy patchwork, cards, journals, trade cards, postcards, memory pieces, buttons jewellery and any other crafts you can think for using small scraps of fabric.

VINTAGE FABRIC SCRAPBAGS NOW LISTED.

My technician has sorted the problem so YIPPEE, the scrapbags have listed.

Rag Rescue down age causes scrapbags to list tomorrow not today - apologies.

I am afraid there was a problem with my website server overnight so that at 7am this morning the website was still down. This meant that the vintage fabric scrapbags didn't list on the website. I have been trying to get in touch with my technician but to no avail I'm afraid so the scrapbags will be listed tomorrow with the items below.
So sorry about this but I'm afraid it is out of my hands at the moment.
The website is now online once again so apart from the missing scrapbags everything is ticky boo.

Vintage hankies go on sale at the Rag Rescue website tomorrow.

Tomorrow, these lovely vintage hankies will be listed on the Rag Rescue website

I found this image on Pinterest and thought it was a great idea for using vintage hankies.

Cut a four-inch square from a hankie. Fold three corners toward the square's center. Hand-stitch the sides together. Turn inside out, press, and sew a button on the flap. Fill with lavender and stitch the flap closed. Read more: Spring Craft Ideas – Easy Spring Crafts and Projects - Country Living

Real antique gold metallic thread.

Have you ever bought a really old piece of embroidery and found that it needs a little restoration work doing on it in gold metallic thread? I have and found that all of the modern gold metallic threads stood out like a sore thumb. Well you don't have to look any further. Tomorrow I will be adding some gold metallic threads that are very old, yes antique. They have that wonderful tarnished hue that only age brings. Whether you are restoring old textiles or trying your hand at gold metallic embroidery yourself and wanting to capture the antique look, these threads will enhance your work.
I have a lot more bobbins of different sizes and types and will be listing a few each week. The ones above are being sold in one metres lengths at an affordable price.

All to be found tomorrow at 7am BST on the Rag Rescue website

Back to reality after my holiday in Malaysia.

I returned from my holiday a week ago and had dreadful jet lag after the 22 hour flight back from Malaysia. Still the holiday was worth it and we had a wonderful time on the beach at Langkawi Island, staying in an abandoned Colonial house on the top of Penang hill, visiting the Orang-utan sanctuary and trekking through the oldest equatorial forest in the world, to name but a few. Our friend who has lived in Georgetown, Malaysia for 20 years was so pleased to see us and was such a good host and without him we would not have seen half the things we did see.
Now we are going to save hard to go again in a couple of years time.
I haven't downloaded all of my photo's yet but you can see some of the beach holiday on my facebook - 'Sandra Kerensky'

Here are just a couple to wet your appetite.

This baby orang-utan was premature, but is doing well and likes taking his nappy off. Eventually he will go back to Borneo with his mother.

Our hotel on the beach in Langkawi.

Water feeding the pond outside our hut.

Orchids growing in the tropical garden of the hotel.

Watching the sunset at the bar next door.

So for the last week I have been busy listing items for the website.

Here are today's listings of vintage fabric.

I shall be back posting here every day, sorry about the delay in returning.
