Mabel Lucie Attwell postcards at Rag Rescue in October

My next listing date will be 10th October, so I thought I'd give you a preview of the postcards I will be listing.
There are five Mabel Lucie Attwell cards from the 1950's and a set of three glorious cupid cards named Faith Hope and Charity plus one of those lovely World War 1 silk embroidered cards from France that the soldiers sent to their sweethearts.

Don't forget, only a few more hours for you to place your orders as the stop on orders goes into place at 9pm this evening. If you don't get your orders placed by that time, I'm afraid you'll have to wait until October 9th when I return from the fairs.

As I'm running behind hand due to loss of internet connection for 18hours from yesterday evening, I'll now sign off until the 9th October.
Have a good week and keep your fingers crossed for me that it doesn't rain.

Some of the 'Rupert bear' squares have become a stunning quilt

A few months ago I sold a large quantity of squares which depicted 'Rupert bear'. There was a set of nine squares which told a story about Rupert and a cloud.

One of my very talented customers Helen at the 'Hen House blog' bought a set of these squares and has made the most gorgeous quilt using them as a centre piece.

I just love the way she has picked out the colours within each square and used fabrics to frame them.

The patterns of the fabrics are lovely and show the squares to their best advantage.

Such superb quilting and such patience, it must have taken her ages to set the strips in.

The quilt now hangs proudly at the top of her stairs for all to view.

Well done Helen.

All the photo's are by Helen at 'Hen House' blog . Do pop over to her post about Rupert
HERE
It not only shows her quilt but also the interesting adventure she had discovering Rupert bear.

Topping up with more vintage fabric squares tomorrow

From a blustery Morecambe come more vintage fabric squares tomorrow.
It was so windy today that I had to cancel my visit to an auction. Travelling further north on the M6 over Shap fell whilst gale force winds blow can be rather dangerous as often high sided vehicles get blown over. We decided it wasn't worth the risk. After getting up at 5am and looking at the forecast, whilst the wind howled up the street from the bay we decided that the best thing to do was to crawl back into bed. There is always another day and instead of sitting for hours in an auction room I managed to get my photo shots done for the Craft Business magazine, will tell you more about the article when they send me a free copy.
It has been a busy week with the press this week as Country Living got in touch and displayed some of my fabrics in their photo shoot on Monday for a vintage article they are running. What with more and more orders flooding in, I really haven't had time to start my normal Autumnal house cleaning. I'd just like to thank all of my new customers that have found Rag Rescue and my regulars that have purchased the vintage fabrics this month.
I've just had a delivery of a huge amount of old lace which I'm in the process of cleaning. As you probably know I don't normally clean my lace, but this was a must. Hopefully I'll start listing it in October.

Keep warm and dry and don't forget to have a browse through the new listings tomorrow.

Filming in Morecambe

I've just found out that yesterday a large film crew descended on Morecambe yesterday to make a film about Eric Morecambe. My daughter tells me that my 6 month old grandson Oliver met Vic Reeves and Victoria Wood. My daughter missed it all as she had taken the two new school children to wackie warehouse. My husband says that one of the car parks on the front is just full of the crew's trailers. I was going into town tomorrow so I'll take my camera.

A mixture tomorrow of haberdashery etc.
