French vintage fabric and lace at the Rag Rescue website

Four more wonderful French vintage fabrics have been added to the Rag Rescue website this morning.

French antique fabric with a 1920s sunbathing scene

What a find this was. A great printed scene on a beach of three young ladies sunbathing on the beach.

I had a large piece of this fabric but there was quite a lot of staining in between the motifs so I had to cut them out to save the wonderful designs. This design would look superb if it was appliqued onto a cushion/pillow or bag. I think it is so unique that it would look superb framed.

This much smaller design was between the other larger designs, which have been sold.

French vintage linen fabric - Art Nouveau design - Jan18

A superb Art Nouveau design on this vintage vintage or rather antique fabric. The fabric is in a strong state.

Lovely floral design.

19th century French fabric - F6

There is a lovely design on this French fabric from the 19th century.

French vintage fabric - silk and cotton mix- Jan26

This vintage fabric has a wonderful feel to it as it is a silk and cotton mix, more silk than cotton, I think.

A lovely floral design of pink flowers and green/blue leaves.

Antique French toile pieces at Rag Rescue.

Wonderful pieces of antique French toile fabric for you today.

Great motif on this French toile fabric from 1805. It is part of 'Le Loup et L'agneau ( The wolf and the Lamb' design by Jean Baptiste Huet. The design was taken from Oudry's illustrations of fables.

This is a great addition to your collection or to be framed or used in one of your projects.

14cms/5.5" - 15cms/5.9" x 14cms/5.5"

I just love the design on this French toile fabric. Can you see the little toy horse on the right hand side?

A lovely vignette of a dancing couple.

Man donkey and goods being transported along the river.

Edwardian lace blouse, cherub fillet lace boudoir cushion cover and two vintage shoe trees.

Something a little different to what I normally sell.
An Antique French Edwardian handmade lace blouse, a lovely cherubs filet lace and white cotton boudoir cushion cover and two shoe trees ready for you to decorate.

Here is an example of what you can do with the shoe trees that I am selling today.
Take one of the pairs of shoe trees like this -

Paint the ends to a colour of your choice.
Make a tube of pretty vintage fabric cotton or silk and gather it on both side.
Place the gathered fabric over one of the shoe trees and pull up the gathering to fit the metalic centre piece.
You can add any embellishments you like.

Here is an example of an original decorated shoe tree being sold on Ruby Lane by Nancy Fancy Antiques. It costs $65 but the ones I am selling are only £5.50 and yours will be just as unique when covered as the Antique ones.

Using vintage haberdashery in your jewellry making projects.

I found this wonderful necklace this morning whilst browsing Pinterest. It has given me so many ideas. There are lots of similar haberdashery and lace items on my website I think I might use some of them to make a similar necklace for myself. Better be quick before I use them all. www.ragrescue.co.uk

The Metro advertisment brings lots of new customers to Rag Rescue

I thought I might be able to have a catch up week this week, as I didn't have anything new listed on the website. WRONG AGAIN. Since I had free advertising in the 'Metro' newspaper I have been inundated with new customers placing orders. Not that I'm complaining at all. Just love you all for liking what I do for a living.

I've been buying lots of new vintage fabrics and there is more to arrive next week I think, so that will keep me busy. I really must have a good sort out of my stock room as it is getting rather unworkable at the moment, with fabrics that need washing, measuring and photographing. I just wish we could have a couple of bright days to do some shots then the fabrics could be put away in my system.

Here are some lovely Easter bunnies for you to make with small pieces of fabric. You can use them to hang on some twigs for Easter or sell them. As you know there are lots of wonderful small pieces of fabric on Rag Rescue website which would be ideal for making these rabbits.
