SALE WEEK AND 10% DISCOUNT WEEK AT RAG RESCUE

I must own up to it, last week the flu beat me and put me in bed for a couple of days.I don't normally give in to illnesses. When I had my gall bladder out a few years ago I was back on my feet and standing at the international fairs for a week, only 7 days after the operation. As soon as I came home I started packing boxes etc and didn't dream of staying in bed. 

However the flu saw me tucked up in bed by 10.30am after sorting out orders, last week. there was no way I could have sorted out stock for new listing next week, I am sorry. I like to keep a flow going every day, but try as I might the energy was not forthcoming. 

I had been thinking for a while now that I ought to have another discount week at Rag Rescue and this coming week seems most appropriate. 

From Sunday 13th February at 7am until midnight on Saturday  19th February there will be

a 10% discount on all items on the site.

This will be given as a refund if payment is made by paypal or included in your final price if payment is made by cheque or by Bank Transfer.

As I am not exhibiting at the fairs any longer I've also decided to reduce some items considerably. 

There will be two items listed every day next week at a good SALE price.

1950's floral fabric tomorrow at Rag Rescue

Another wet miserable day here in Morecambe but at least the wind has dropped. I thought I would cheer us all up by listing some very pretty 1950s nylon fabrics tomorrow. I don't normally buy nylon fabric but these three floral ones have such delightful designs. I think if lined these would make wonderful boudoir cushions, just in time for Valentines day.

Antique lace - great for Valentines Day projects

Lots of lovely antique lace and vintage fabric square being listed next week.

I shall start tomorrow by listing eight pieces of Antique lace.

I don't normally clean my lace as dealers usually like to clean it themselves using their own methods. However this lace had been stained with tea as was the fashion at the time. I've spent a week cleaning it so it is back to it's original colour and suitable for use by all the designers, students and crafters that buy from Rag Rescue.

The lace and vintage fabric will be listed on alternative days so you don't get bored.

Wonderful vintage Kensitas cigarette woven silks - c.1930s

These beautiful silk flowers were given away free in Kensitas Cigarette packets in the 1930s.
They came in a little card with a description of the flower and history.

The silk flowers I found do not have the cards but they would look superb incorporated into a quilt, patchwork or on a bag or cushion.

Eileen's 1920's inspired flapper headband

A while ago Eileen bought the black velvet piece from the Rag Rescue website. Yesterday she sent me this photo of what she had created with black velvet piece - a wonderful 1920's inspired black flapper headband - fascinator.

I think you will agree that she has used this velvet to it's best advantage and turned an unused, unwanted vintage item into a thing of beauty.
