I've been busy all weekend wrapping orders. It
seems that lots of customers want to grab a bargain. There are still
hundreds of lovely vintage fabrics and trims on the website. Make a
drink and settle down to browse. Good luck, I hope you are able to find
something.
The big four week SALE begins today. This leads
me up to my son's wedding in Croatia on June 1st. I thought I would
share my happiness with you by refunding 20% of any order you place
after 7am BST today 28th April. I hope you enjoy browsing the website and can
manage to grab a bargain. The RAG RESCUE website - www.ragrescue.co.uk
I acquired an old patchwork quilt which although large was very damaged. As the designs were superb and very old we decided to unpick the quilt and save the good pieces.
The majority of the fabrics used in the quilt were Victorian but some were early 20th century. I think the quilt was made in the early 20th century using a mix of what was then old fabric and new ones.
I have washed all of the fabrics and bagged them up into stashbags containing 6 patches. These can be used for your sewing projects or retained as examples of designs from long ago.
I'm having to be very organised at the moment as my son's wedding is just around the corner.
He is getting married in Croatia so hopefully the weather will be much better than it is here.
I start my tanning this morning, just a few minutes at a time. Even though I live by the sea the weather has been so terrible for such a long time that my skin is very white and that won't do, otherwise I will frizzle out in Croatia.
I
recently acquired a large bag of Victorian ribbon trademan samples and
was over the moon. Many of them are plain colours but the silk is
divine.
These are perfect for period projects but I will be I thought I would use some of them.
I think they will make superb bookmarks. you could embroider them, add
beads and small embellishments to make them unique. Ideal for yourself
or presents.
As the ribbon is silk it shines different shades with movement and is so pleasing.
