The metallic thread wound around the bobbins is Antique French. You can either use it or as in the picture below keep it until Christmas and make a Christmas tree.

Beautiful Victorian silk ribbon tradesman samples at Rag Rescue website tomorrow
I recently acquired a large bag of Victorian ribbon tradesman samples and was over the moon. There are quite a few ribbon samples that have wonderful designs although many of them are plain colours, but the silk is divine.
Five out of the six photo's above show the beautifully designed silk ribbon samples
These are perfect for period projects but I will be framing some and you may like to do this as well.
As the ribbon is silk it shines different shades with movement and is so pleasing.
This ribbon is perfect and in excellent condition.
